Porch Steel. Garage walls start to go up.

There's a pretty heavy layer of snow on the ground and the garage walls are going up.  To refresh your memory, the garage will be a three car.  Maybe we should have opted for 4 car, but the width of the build site wouldn't have supported it.  It's split between a two car door and a single car door with a difference in depth.  The depth of the two car door area will be 23' and the single port will be 3' shorter at 20'.  This should be enough room.

 Since there's such little space around the sides of the house, including the complications of elevation changes, we've opted for a rear garage door in the single car port.  That way we can move large things to the back yard.

 The full height of the wall scaffolding is already installed and ready for more courses.  I think the garage door opening will be 9' since we're going to have a curved door opening.  The sides will be 8' in height.

 The front porch steel was also installed as well as most all of the first floor LiteDeck.

 A wrap around porch will be a nice feature on our house.  It will be 8' deep so there's enough room for some seating.  Because of this porch, it's debatable on whether or not we'll need gutters on the main house.  Any rain water falling will already be 8' from the foundation and it would be to not have to clean all the pine needles.
This corner of the house will have a turret on the second floor that partially floats above the wrap around porch.  The wrap around porch flares into a circle to accommodate this so we'll have some more room here.   I imagine this is where I'll be waiting when the kids are old enough to come home later than curfew.

 Another nice feature of the porch is that it's going to be so high off the final grade.  We're planning on keeping as much forest as we can so this view will have our "front" yard.  There are some houses visible through our forest in the next court over, but only during the winter time.

 Here's where the porch wraps around to the great room.  There will be a single swing door that enters the great room here.  We're not planning on having a stair to reach ground level here but maybe it will be annoying enough to walk all the way around.

 Here's the backyard shot of the back of the garage.  You can see the exterior door on the left and the gap of the rear garage door.  I'm a little worried about the mass of wall in between the doors and we'll need to have a nice landscaping plan to mask it.  We've thought about having high windows here, but finally opted against it when we saw the current proposed window estimate.  I'll have to make a post about the windows.

Driveway shot.  I can almost imagine what the house will look like driving up.  It's starting to get exciting!
